Healing: Addons

I am assuming everybody read my post on healing as a Holy Priest. I mentioned in there that I use addons to heal. While everybody has their own opinion I’m going to show you my way on how I heal. If you are new at healing I recommend you use this, as it will help you more with group and raid healing.

All addons can be found using the WoWMatrix Addon Download Utility

Raid Frames: Grid
Click Casting Module: Clique
Dispelling: Decursive
Buffing: ZOMGBuffs or SmartBuff

Also note with the recent modifications to Grid and Threat (Blizzard) many of the core addons that worked with Grid no longer work. Most of the authors of the plug-ins no longer exist or the addon authors choose not to implement features that will help the addon. This is why you use Healbot Continued. It has a lot of the core built in from Grid and Clique combined with a good way to show who has threat. While Clique and Grid are generally better, because of the lack of support from the authors of Grid, it almost seems that Grid is on the way out.

Hello fellow healers. This guide will help you decide what kind of gems to put into your gear. Please remember I will be listing EPIC quality gems only. These gems should only be put in spots where you know you will not be upgrading your gear until the Expansion. These are suitable for T5, T6, and Badge of Justice gear.

Priests

When playing a Priest, we need bonus healing, and some kind of regen for mana. The best way to accomplish this is by putting in the following gems into the following sockets. Priests do not have a lot of red sockets so the bonus healing Meta gem does no good for us. We have more Yellow sockets and Blue sockets then any healing class.

Yellow Sockets: Luminous Pyrestone
Blue Sockets: Sparkling Empyrean Sapphire
Red Sockets: Purified Shadowsong Amethyst
Meta: Insightful Earthstorm Diamond

Druids

Druids are a lot like Priests. Spirit helps a lot especially in Tree formation. These gems are ideal for a Restoration Druid with or without Tree formation. Druids regen mana faster then any other healing class, because of this stacking pure healing gems (Teardrop Crimson Spinel) is usually the best way to go.

Paladins

Paladins are nothing like Priests or Druids. Paladins do not benefit from any Spirit or mana regen. There best bet is to have as much Intellect as possible. So intail the best gems would be something that has bonus heals and Intellect at the same time.

Shamans

Shamans are a lot like Paladins. They do not benefit from Spirit or mana regen. Pumping out Intellect would be ideal again for Shamans. One thing Shaman’s benefit from is Spell Haste. While all mana classes benefit from Spell Haste, for Healers, Shaman’s benefit the most from it.
